Psychospiritual Institute invites you on a sacred journey into the heart of Guatemala at the magical Lake Atitlan, “the place where the rainbow gets its colors.”  Surrounded by volcanoes, the lake is known for its healing properties and offers the perfect space for slowing down, breathing more deeply, and coming home to our essential Self. 

During our retreat, we will stay at the beautiful Villa Sumaya, majestically located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Santa Cruz la Laguna, Guatemala. Villa Sumaya is a natural sanctuary dedicated to soul-centered holistic practices and healing, as well as preserving indigenous Mayan traditions and facilitating outdoor adventure and deep connection to the land.

Together, we will immerse in the soulful work of connecting to ourselves, each other, and this wild land, as we nourish our souls and ignite our holy fire for our sacred work in the world. You will experience psychospiritual teachings, profound ceremony, deep ecology, joyful play, and the rapture of being more fully alive!

We created this retreat to be as fully inclusive as possible. Along with profound inner work, our days will be filled with opportunities to relax, restore, reconnect, and deepen ourselves, with open space to explore and experience life on Lake Atitlan. 

We have built in plenty of time for you to do what your soul needs, whether that be reading, writing, spa treatments, reflection, adventure, or personal integration.

    in the room of your choice.

    • PLEASE NOTE: To make it on the group shuttle, your flight must land
      before 1pm on Saturday, October 5 (Shuttle departs at 2pm.)

    • For the group shuttle back your flight must depart after 2pm on Friday,
      October 11 (Departs Villa Sumaya at 8am and arrives at airport at
      approximately 1pm.)

  • All staff and transport tips are included.

  • Any US / Guatemalan government Covid medical testing (optional).

Meet Your Guides

  • Val Silidker, MS, BCC

    Val Silidker is the co-founder, director and lead coach trainer of Psychospiritual Institute. She is a Board Certified Coach (BCC), Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC), and Deep Ecologist. She has been coaching individuals and facilitating groups for over 20 years, specializing in transpersonal psychology, evolutionary leadership, eco-therapy, authentic connection work, and holistic business skills. She is also an international speaker and author of Call of the Ecological Self. Val works with emerging leaders and mission-driven entrepreneurs, who feel the shift in our world and want to be a catalyst for change, and has gratefully inspired the transformation of tens of thousands of people world-wide.

  • Alyssa Whitehouse, MBA, BCC

    Alyssa is the co-founder and director of operations at Psychospiritual Institute. She is a Board Certified Coach (BCC), Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC) with specialty certifications in integrative health and wellness, dreamwork, children and teens coaching, and creative arts. In addition to Psychospiritual Institute, she works privately and in groups with children and teens to help build capacity, resilience, connection, and self-love. She also facilitates dreamwork groups exploring the realm of the unconscious and the transpersonal. Whether working women, children/teens, or dreams, she partners with her clients to create a life of purpose, joy, and freedom.

  • Jon Schottland, MA, BCC

    Jon is a senior trainer at Psychospiritual Institute and the founder of Synthesis NE. Jon was a senior trainer at the Synthesis Center in Amherst, MA for 15 years and also taught in the graduate psychology programs at Sofia University and American International College for master's and doctoral level students. He has provided extensive trainings for life coaches and corporate coaches across the U.S. and internationally. Jon holds an advanced degree in developmental psychology and is both a nationally Board Certified Coach (BCC) and Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC). The focus of his work is cultivating deep presence and attention to promote healing, self expression, wholeness and optimal personal development.

  • Vienna Jasmin, PLC

    Vienna is a Certified Psychosynthesis Life Coach (PLC) and Trainer at Psychospiritual Institute. She is also a Ceremonial and Ritual Practitioner. Through her apprenticeships to Medicine Men and Women from North and South American Traditions, she has facilitated transformational gatherings around the US and abroad. Vienna has a background in Emotional Mastery, Qigong, Reiki, and Indigenous forms of Traditional Healing and Somatic Work. Her intimate experience with the healing of trauma, both in herself and others, provides a unique, in-depth perspective on the human psyche, and the ability we possess to transcend the programming and stories of our past.

Psychospiritual Institute (PSI) is a training center that explores the synthesis of transpersonal psychology, spirituality, ecology, coaching and global leadership to support the evolution of human potential and reconnect us with our inner wisdom, deep resilience, and creativity during this time of transition in our world. Psychospiritual Institute was founded by Valerie Silidker, M.S, BCC, and Alyssa Whitehouse, M.B.A, BCC. Together with our incredible team, we support our students and clients to develop psychological integration and spiritual maturity, deeper self-awareness, as well as personal and global leadership skills through the transpersonal coaching framework. We do this so that we can live with more joy, make choices that honor our values, and take compassionate action toward greater change on this planet. Additional Spa, Tours, Excursions, and Activities

There are a number of additional activities available at Villa Sumaya who have assembled a complete list, along with pricing, for these excursions. While these are outside of our pricing and activities plan, you are welcome to partake in any you wish during our scheduled open time at the retreat. Please make arrangements directly with Villa Sumaya once you have the full schedule.

Cancellation Policy

Space is limited. To reserve your space, we require a minimum of a $500 non-refundable deposit (applied to balance). Full payment must be completed by August 1, 2024. Installment payments are available and will be split in equal payments between date of deposit and August 1, 2024, or you may choose to pay in full rather than installment payments.

Cancel by June 1, 2024 - 75% refund of total paid minus deposit. Cancel by July 1, 2024 - 50% refund of total paid minus deposit. Cancel after August 1, 2024 - no refund of total paid. This policy applies to payments made in full or installments made per arrangement. In the event the retreat has to move due to any rare unforeseen circumstances, we will select a new date for the event and all bookings will be transferred to the new date.
